I wanted to find a place on Ocean City where I could actually see the ocean from my window and also a private balcony. I also wanted to be steps away from the boardwalk. There are not many places available. I was able to find about 4 places.
They are the Port-O-Call hotel, Ocean 7 motel, The Beach Club Hotel and Ocean View Motel. The Port-O-Call hotel has seven floors with private balconies and overlook the ocean. The only problem is a hotel and can take a while to get down to the boardwalk if you are on a higher floor. I also learned that the hallways are not air -conditioned making in unpleasant for some visitors. The Port-O-Call hotel is very strict with its checkout policy and will remove your items if you have not checked out on time.
The Ocean 7 motel is located right in the middle of the boardwalk. Well, a few steps away from it. The Ocean 7 Motel has 5 rooms on the fourth floor with a great ocean view and 9 rooms with a “ocean peak” view. The rooms do not have balconies.
The Beach Club Hotel is also located a few steps from the boardwalk. The have many rooms with ocean and boardwalk views as well as private balconies. It also has a restaurant. It appears to be only 3 floors so you can quickly get in and out of your room and onto the boardwalk or beach.
The Ocean front motel is close to the Port-O-Call hotel and is right on the boardwalk. There are no balconies but many rooms have ocean views. Some reviewers complained the windows were hazy and hard to see out of. After reviewing all of the lodging, my choice is the Beach Club Hotel. It has plenty of room with ocean views and private balconies. Also it is right on the boardwalk.
Well there you have it. The four Ocean City, NJ hotels were you can get an ocean view, right on the boardwalk, and maybe a private balcony.
