The last piece of evidence that confirms the existence of Hvalsey is a marriage certificate that was signed and recorded in the city’s church church in 1408, but after that all civilization seems to have disappeared.

Hattusa

Today, only the ruins of Hattusa’s stone built temples and palaces remain but it is still a sight to behold – the ruins are also home to clay tablets that are imprinted with legal procedures and codes.

Caral

The lost city of Caral is incredibly well preserved considering it was thought to have been inhabited as far back as 2600 BC and 2000 BC – if you travel to the city you will still be able to see a plaza and 6 large platforms.

This wouldn’t be a look at ‘lost’ cities without mentioning Atlantis. Although there is no concrete evidence to suggest that Atlantis ever actually existed taking a road trip in an attempt to discover it sounds like a lot of fun!
